Stig Magne Solstad is a specialist in clinical adult psychology, accredited as a psychologist at the University of Bergen in 2013 and as a specialist in clinical adult psychology in 2019. He was appointed to a dual competence position in 2015, and now divides his time between research and service as a psychologist specialist in the Section for Safety and Psychosis at the psychiatric clinic in Førde. He recently completed a doctorate at the University of Bergen on patients» experiences with clinical feedback systems in mental health healthcare, where he conducted an interview study on patients» experiences with Helse Førde’s clinical feedback system Norse Feedback. He is now pursuing post doc funding for a project about suicide prevention.
Solstad’s area of focus is practice-oriented research, meaning research that takes place as part of clinical practice. His aim is to improve clinical practice by creating research questions and using methods that are meaningful for both patients and healthcare personnel.
